Unit pricing for the packaged 1015EA is $72 for production quantities of 1,000 units.įigure 1a. The 1015EA and 1016EA are available for immediate purchase in either a 32-lead quad flat package (8 x 8 millimeters) or in die form in sample quantities, with volume production beginning in the second quarter of 2003.
IPHI MODULATOR DRIVER UPGRADE
This feature facilitates second sourcing and reduces the cost of both existing designs and future upgrade programs. These devices were designed specifically to ensure pad-out and pin-out compatibility with currently available EA drivers. The 1015EA and 1016EA yield superior edge rates, high output eye quality (see Figure 2), and low jitter, making them ideal for high-bit-rate, non-return-to-zero (NRZ) transmission systems. "The 1015EA and 1016EA eliminate the need for costly external feedback circuits typically used to compensate for unacceptable performance variations over temperature and voltage in other parts on the market today."
IPHI MODULATOR DRIVER DRIVERS
"The exceptional stability of our EA drivers provides system designers with a reliable and affordable solution for transmitter modules," said Gopal Raghavan, chief technology officer at Inphi. These three parameters are all user adjustable for maximum design flexibility.

In addition, they demonstrate excellent output amplitude, eye crossing, and output bias voltage stability over variations in temperature and voltage supply (see Figure 1).

These drivers generate an output modulation voltage of up to 3 volts peak-to-peak (V p-p) single ended and can support a bias voltage from V0.5 to V1.5 V p-p. The 1015EA and 1016EA have a minimum output compliance of 3.4 volts and 4.5 volts, respectively. These devices are intended for use in a wide range of applications such as metro and long reach network systems and 10-Gigabit Ethernet. The 1015EA and 1016EA support data rates of 10.7 Gbps and deliver outstanding performance in a small form factor to equipment manufacturers looking to obtain high-quality, cost-competitive transponder components.
